Storytelling is driven by in-person public and private sessions focused on interactive arts education; this includes one day exhibitions, performance re-enactments, manifesto readings, exhibition walkthroughs, artist studio visits and independent focus groups.
Private Storytelling Inquires
About Storytelling:
Storytelling Sunday’s began in 2022 in Sharjah Art Museum, United Arab Emirates as a way to find our community, and challenge ways of seeing and experiencing art.
We hold exhibitions, performance re-enactments, manifesto readings, exhibition walkthroughs, artist studio visits and drive independent focus groups.
We started with one goal – to redefine arts education, empower the story and the storyteller, and learn from each other while doing it. In our sessions the past meets present as we reinterpret art history and culture by marrying art with mixed disciplines like music, film, dance and literature.
Storytelling sessions are performance, they are educational – in improvisation, in spoken word and narration, and also empower all participants to share – what are we looking at?
Our adventures have taken us to Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Riyadh, London, New York – and continues to unfold across both public, and private initiatives (by request).
Storytelling sessions have taken place at Art Dubai; Sharjah Biennial; Barjeel Art Foundation; Sharjah Art Museum; Aisha Alabbar Gallery; Zidoun-Bossuyt Gallery; Bayt Al Mamzar, The Art Circle; alongside private residential gatherings.
Commissioned projects include Warehouse 421; UAE Embassy, Washington, DC; alongside platforms like afikra; artmejo; Safir.
