TAQWA ALNAQBI
b. 1994, Khorfakkan, United Arab Emirates
Taqwa completed a bachelor of Fine Arts at College of Fine Arts and Design in University Of Sharjah in 2016. She works mostly with installation that incorporates handmade papers and mixed media. Her works are inspired by personal experiences that come from her surroundings, which she savors and celebrates through her art. She had exhibited internationally and regionally including: a group show in Greenville Exhibition with ECU Students in United States of America in 2016; Budapest Art Market in Hungary in October 2015; and in Sharjah Heritage Museum in United Arab Emirates in February 2015.

Taqwa's vision is in line with these older artists, in that she uses materials from her environment and understands the importance of listening to her elders, both at home and in her local art community. A native of Khorfakkan and an artist since a young age, she has now developed a passion for bookbinding and printmaking that uses the stories and materials that are close to her.
